Dream: I was wandering through an unknown town with my son, age 7 approximately, looking for a school for him, we ended up in a park, he was wearing a green vest in which he was placing daisies, then he offered it to me, the vest had become a wall hanging.
A layered Saturday : translations, then conversation with Rustine about imperialism in the morning; then a 4-hour session with Giovana on clowning, in the afternoon; then a documentary on the evolution of that technology known as “artificial intelligence” for the purpose of attracting researchers and financing for research that didn’t attract much attention from financers, prior to this re-naming.
I return to the clowning experience here, the horrors will return to fill the field of consciousness soon enough, thank you very much. This was obvious, in fact, yesterday afternoon. There were five of us and each in our own way, bearers of heavy stuff because of illnesses in our surroundings, but also that shapeless “fatigue” brought on by the social climate. Giovana works essentially with the techniques developed by Michel Dallaire, now a clown playing in the fields of eternity, (he was one of the founders of the Cirque du Soleil). So : exercises to “set aside” this person during playtime, breathing exercices, then work on gaits, onomatopeas and the movements they inspire automatically, personal interpretations of “I’m worthless” or “You’re worthless”, or “I’m a genius”, or “You’re a genius”. Each one’s interpretations producing different results truly other than the “person” who had presented herself to the group at the opening of the session. I should add that, during play time, the teacher never uses the person’s name, referring to her as “Mademoiselle” and using the formal “vous” form of address, thus maintaining a strict separation between the “person” and the clown making those sounds or speaking those words.
There will be a second session with Giovana in January. (At the pharmacy after the session, when I mentioned to the pharmacist where I was coming from, she said : “It should get reimbursed by Social Security”. Well, in a better world, perhaps it would be.)
At any rate, during 4 hours, the bots did not rule at the circus school where the yellow wall at the back has a peculiar stain that always reminds me of the shadow of Paul Klee’s Senecio.
Intéressant la complexité du clown. Et salubre
