In the first dream, the young man we call Rustine was my physician and as he was leaving, he embraced me, declaring his love, I did the same, we were in an airport where there was a madly romantic mood, I took a few dance steps ; then, there were 5 or 6 of us who had to have a medical exam that called for the insertion of long rods in our nostrils, we were waiting in a room with big  glass windows, a man arrived to cover them with huge structures designed to avoid the strong winds blowing them out, he said, there was another patient who was also a writer, she and I had pleasant converstions — she was also bilingual, such a pleasure ! — after which I found myself in a tiny room entirelyy painted of the blue in L’Autrucherie’s book marker where I woke up. (Oh, but first, there had been the mystery of 2 lemons in the middle of the road. In English, a “lemon” would describe a defective car, that may be the link here. )

Because, Trump, “the lemon” put on his show yesterday at the UN’s General Assembly, right after the last speech Antonio Guterrez would pronounce in front the Assembly as the organization’s secretary general. Trump threatened to wipe out Iran if it didn’t do as he wishes, threatened Cuba’s leaders of being next on his list, boasted of controlling Venezuela’s oil (vae victis, quite simply) and refused all notions of international regulations on AI. Were absent from the general assembly, the leaders of China, India et South Africa.   Trump and  Xi Jinping are to meet tomorrow in Washington. The little minions must  be scrambling and scooting at the thought of the event not being covered by the media at the White House, following the “banning” of the media the president doesn’t like. Spectacles of decadence unreeling at top speed.

I prefer historian Timothy Snyder’s “little courages” to the solemn events where the truth always plays in the hallways if you wish to understand the posturing of the “great men” in public.

Back to L’Horloger des Brumes,  yes yes, now that I’ve finished re-reading The Sleepwalkers and that all the manoeuvering by the ones and the others starting after the assassination in Sarajevo, on June 28 1914, has led to Germany launching its offensive on August 1st, leading Great Britain to resolve shouldering France, and that all these fine gentlement have shed a tear in private, while millions of men were thrown onto the killing fields.
