Je m’éveille avec les mots “zè lau hashouv” en tête (“ça nest pas grave, ça n’est pas important”, en hébreu). Rien d’étonnant à cela, vu mon absorption à larges doses de la langue en regardant la série Be Tipul et en écrivant un texte basé sur mes années là-bas.

Et la conscience aigüe du décalage qui en résulte souvent – à l’atelier d’écriture d’hier, par exemple. Le décalage entre les expériences marquantes des uns et des autres et la nécessité qui en découle de se composer un personnage social plus ou moins passe-partout. Le personnage dont on dit : “Ah oui, une telle est comme ceci, comme cela.” Alors qu’une telle, comme la lune, ne présente qu’une face, toujours la même, par politesse et/ou par nécessité, si les autres faces provoquent des décalages trop importants dans le contexte local. Réflexions détaillées à ce sujet, dans un cahier, suite à l’atelier d’écriture d’hier. Le décalage existe. Faire avec, il est plus qu’évident que ce que j’écris est hors cadre dans ce contexte-là.

Les gros titres. Celui de ce matin sur The Guardian en étant un exemple parfait: Israel-Hamas War: Fighting traps patients and medics in Gaza’s largest hospital. C’est vrai, incontestablement, mais pourquoi ? Pourquoi le Hamas a-t-il concentré certaines de ses troupes près de son QG sous l’hôpital si ce n’est pas justement pour créer ce genre d’horreur dans lequel médecins et patients sont pris au piège ? Si ce n’est pas pour créer sa propre version de la face qu’on voit en masquant l’autre, laquelle, dans le cas de Hamas n’a rien de justifiable ou défendable ?

This morning, I woke up to the words “zè lau hashuv” in my head (“it’s not serious, it’s not important” in Hebrew); No surprise in that, seeing my absorption of heavy doses of the language while watching the series Be Tipul and writing a text based on my years over there.

And the sharp awareness of the gap this causes often – at the writing workshop yesterday, for example. The gap between the significant events for the ones and the others, and the need this creates for the creation of a social persona that is suitable for most circumstances. The persona about which others say : “Oh yes, so-and-so is like this or like that.” Whereas so-and-so, like the moon, is simply showing the same face, always, out of politeness and/or necessity if the other faces provoke gaps that are too important in the local context. Detailed reflections about this in a notebook, following yesterday’s writing workshop. The gap is there. One has to make do with it, it seems more than obvious that what I write is outside the scope of that particular context.

Headlines. This one on The Guardian is a perfect example: Israel-Hamas War: Fighting traps patients and medics in Gaza’s largest hospital. Which is undeniably true, but why? Why did Hamas concentrate some of its troops close to its HQ beneath the hospital, if not precisely in order to create this kind of horror in which staff and patients are trapped? If it was not precisely in order to create its own version of the face one shows while masking the other which, in the case of Hamas, has nothing that can justify or defend it ?
