Ailleurs d’après les infos – manifs avec répression brutale en Géorgie (le gouvernement annonçant le retrait de la loi anti “agents étrangers – faut-il y croire ? US et UE s’empressent d’appuyer les manifestants, ils en auraient fait autant en 2008 qu’on n’en serait pas là.) En Afghanistan, une dizaine de femmes d’une bravoure impressionnante s’assoient et lisent devant l’université. En Ukraine : barrage de missiles sur tout le territoire; la ligne fournissant l’électricité pour le refroidissement des unités de la centrale nucléaire de Zaporizhzhia, à nouveau coupée. Iran, Turquie – de l’histoire ancienne, apparemment.

Les humains ont une curieuse conception de leur place dans la nature des choses.

Lundi, des “amis” facebook (que je ne connais d’aucune façon) se sont préparés aux manifs du 7 mars en publiant leur opinion concernant la question de la hausse de l’âge de la retraite en France. Leur opinion était la simplicité même: d’autres pays européens fixent l’âge de la retraite à 67 ans, c’est donc à la France de les ‘rattraper’. (Personnellement, je n’ai pas droit à un centime, alors je regarde le tout avec un certain détachement.)

Ce qui me frappe dans ce raisonnement – toujours le même, d’ailleurs, dès qu’il s’agit de ‘niveaux de rémunération’: il n’est jamais question d’améliorer le sort des autres, mais uniquement question de fustiger les “privilégiés” ou, comme disait l’un de ses zamis : on vit plus longtemps, donc il faut travailler plus longtemps.

Eh non. Il ne serait pas plus bête de laisser une chance aux gens de découvrir qu’ils et elles ne sont pas uniquement des machines à produire du bénéfice pour l’industrie. (Je vois que Total a remporté la victoire et pourra saccager le grand parc national en Ouganda. Le fric le fric le fric. Le saccage oui, bof, les actionnaires ne seront plus. là pour. les déluges sans fin et les sécheresses idoines. Quant aux gouvernements, qu’ils soient autoritaire ou à vernis démocratique, ils sont au service de la grande industrie, point à la ligne.

Le monde, dans toute sa splendeur.

La planète va-t-elle endurer les humains longtemps encore ?

The US et EU rush forth to support the protesters, they would have done as much in 2008 that we wouldn’t be where we are now .) In Afghanistan, ten or twelve women of impressive courage sit and read in front of the University. In Ukraine : massive carpeting of the entire territory with missiles; the single power line providing power to cool the nuclear units at the Zaporizhzhia plant, cut off again. Iran, Turkey – old news apparently.

Humans have an odd conception of their place in the nature of things.

On Monday, some facebook ‘friends’ (whom I don’t know in any way) were preparing for the March 7 demonstrations by publishing their opinion on the matter of the raising of the age for a pension in France. Their opinion was simplicity itself: other European countries set the age for a pension at 67, therefore it is up to France to “catch up” with them. (Personally, I’m not entitled to a centime, so I have a certain detached view on it all.)

What strikes me in this line of reasoning – always the same one, in fact, whenever comes up the issue of “levels of payments”: there is never any talk of improving the fate of others, but solely a question of scolding the “privileged” or as one of these so-called friends wrote: we’re living longer, therefore we must work for a longer time.

Well, no. Things wouldn’t be worse off if folks had a chance to discover they are not solely machines for producing profits for industry. (I see Total has won in Uganda and will be allowed to devastate the large national park there to pump the oil out of the ground. Money money money. Devastation, yes and so what, the shareholders won’t be there anymore for the endless floods and similarly endless droughts. Be they authoritarian or with a democratic veneer, governments are at the beck and call of large industrial holdings, period.

The world, in its full magnificence. Will the planet put up with humans much longer ?
