L’accalmie a duré – quoi ?- cinq minutes ? Il pleut de façon…vigoureuse. La rivière déborde à nouveau de son lit. Le sentier de promenade qui la longe: emportée encore une fois.

L’histoire que j’écris se déroule pour l’essentiel fin 2015, début 2016. Comme façon de replonger dans l’ambiance, je relis “Un président ne devrait pas dire ça...” de Gérard Davet et Fabrice Lhomme. Au passage, je note une petite phrase de François Hollande, président de l’époque, qu’un certain Emmanuel Macron a fort bien intériorisée: “Il faut être pédagogique car, plus on est pédagogique, moins on donne d’informations.”

Sans blague. On n’avait pas remarqué…

The respite lasted – what? – five minutes? It’s raining in a…vigorous way. The river is overflowing again. The walking trail on the shore: carried away, yet again.

The main part of the story I’m writing takes place end of December 2015 and beginning of 2016. In order to recapture some of the mood of that period (immediately following the major terrorist attacks in France), I’m re-reading the interviews carried out by two journalists with then-President François Hollande. Titled “Un président ne devrait pas dire ça...” (A President Shouldn’t Say Such Things…). In passing, I notice a little sentence by Hollande that a certain Emmanuel Macron has fully internalized: “We must be pedagogical because, the more pedagogical we are, the less information we disclose.”

No kidding. We hadn’t noticed…
