Journée de train, retour à la maison.

Zehra : “Pendant six ans,” dit-elle, après la prison et la sortie de Turquie, j’ai été comme éteinte. Incapable de comprendre où j’étais, incapable d’apprendre l’anglais à Londres, l’allemand à Berlin, pensant constamment à mes compagnes encore en prison, à ma famille, je regardais tout sans voir. Et maintenant, c’est comme si je m’éveillais.”

C’est elle qui me demande d’améliorer son anglais. Nous ferons des séances par visio-conférence. J’insiste pour que ce soit elle qui initie le contact, en fonction de ses engagements (expositions, et autres.)

A day of train rides, going home.

Zehra : “For six years, she says, after the prison and leaving Turkey, it’s as if I had been turned off. Unable to understand where I was, unable to learn English in London, German in Berlin, constantly thinking about my companions still in jail, about my family, I looked at everything without seeing. And now, it’s as if I’m waking up.”

She is the one who asked me to help her improve her English. We will hold our sessions by visio-conference. I insist that she be the one initiating the contact, taking into account her activities (exhibitions and such.)
