Des rêves, ne me reste qu’une voix m’ordonnant de porter des chaussettes avec une planchette siglée BATA et de porter une robe de nuit “plus appropriée” à mon âge (?) alors que les plus jeunes étaient autorisés à marcher pied nu s’ils le souhaitaient.

Premières pensées au réveil : la jeune boiteuse dans La Quatrième Prose*, celle venue “d’une rue plus longue qu’une nuit sans tramway” et portant une chaussure-prothèse comme “un sabot de percheron”. Le rapport avec la société Bata, je ne le vois pas, je savais déjà que le fondateur était tchèque (wikipedia confirme) mais…?

Plus intrigant ce matin : les morceaux de l’introduction à la poésie d’Iliazd** que j’ai lue hier soi. Trois aspects en particulier : sa pratique du boustrophedon où le texte coule de gauche à droite sur une ligne, puis de droite à gauche sur la suivante

exemple :

longue comme une nuit

tiun enu emmoc eugnol

et ainsi de suite

Mais aussi les poèmes composés de sons et, surtout, la notion du temps, entièrement contenu dans l’espace actuel (quelque chose de la même notion chez Mandelstam).

Le rapport avec L’Horloger ? Aucune idée. Tout ce que je sais pour l’heure, c’est qu’il y en a un.

(Jusqu’à hier, pour moi, Le Boustrophedon était le nom d’un spectacle de cirque de 2012. Le mot lui-même, venu du grec, décrivant la façon dont les boeufs tracent les sillons, tournant au bout de chacun pour revenir en traçant le suivant, et ainsi de suite.)

Rapide coup d’oeil sur la chronique de l’historienne Heather Cox Richardson, ces chroniques étant pour elle une façon de noter “ce qu’un étudiant de maîtrise devra savoir dans 150 ans d’ici” – dans ce cas-ci, la nomination d’un incapable notoire à la tête du Département de la Défense des Etats-Unis, et le congédiement (illégal, mais nous sommes entrés dorénavant de plein pied dans l’illégalité) des responsables de la surveillance de l’application des règles dans les agences gouvernementales fédérales.

J’ajoute : le gel des contributions américaines à ses divers engagements, dont ceux pris envers l’Ukraine (seules exceptions : Taiwan et Israël).

Franchement, je m’étonne que les gens s’étonnent, tout, absolument tout, était annoncé, commenté, réitéré tout au long de la campagne électorale.

Je lirai certainement dans The Guardian l’article de la journaliste Christiane Amampour affirmant “Our job is to be truthtul not neutral” . Oh que oui.

Of the dreams, all that remains is a voice ordering me to wear socks carrying a board marked with the BATA brand and to wear nightgowns “more appropriate for my age” (?) whereas younger ones were authorized to go bare foot if they so wished.

First thoughts on waking : the young limping woman in La Quatrième Prose, the one arriving “from a street longer than a night without a tram” and wearing a prosthetic shoe like the hoof of a percheron (horse). What this has to do with the Bata company, I don’t see, I knew its founder was Czech, (wikipedia confirms) but…?

More intriguing this morning: the bits of the introduction to Iliazd’s poetry I read last night. Three bits in particular : his practice of the boustrophedon where the text runs from left to right on one line, and from right to left on the following

e.g.

following

gniwollof

and so on

no os dna

But also the poems made up of sounds, and, mostly, the notion of time being entirely encompassed in the current moment (there’s something of the same notion in Mandelstam.)

How this relates to L’Horloger ? I have no idea, all I know for now is that it does.

(For me, until yesterday, Le Boustrophedon was the name of a circus presentation from 2012. The word itself, from the Greek, describing the way the oxen trace the furrows, turning at the end of one in order to trace the other on the way back, and so on.)

A quick look at historian Heather Cox Richardson’s column, these being for her a way to keep notes on “what a graduate student will need to know in 150 years from now” – in this case, the nomination of a noted dimwit as head of the USA’s Defense Department, and the firing (illegal, but we have henceforth stepped straight into illegality) of the people charged with watching over the application of the rules in the federal governmental agencies

To which I add: the freeze on American contributions to various of its commitments, including those for Ukraine (sole exceptions: Taiwan and Israel).

Frankly, I’m surprised that people are surprised, everything, absolutely everything was announced, commented upon, reiterated during the entire election campaign.
