Suivant un article sur la situation au Moyen Orient, un lecteur de Médiapart écrit en fin de commentaire: “Être vieux permet de ne pas avoir peur et de regarder froidement les situations.” Personnellement, je n’irais pas jusque là parce que je doute que la peur soit une fonction de l’âge, plutôt que de la situation.

Pour l’heure, je suis surtout en colère. J’en veux à beaucoup de monde pour les catastrophes qui s’abattent sur des gens qui ne leur ont rien demandé, mais vraiment rien. J’en veux évidemment à toute la clique autour du Kremlin et de son malfaisant-en-chef qui, à travers l’Ukraine, s’en prennent à la terre entière; j’en veux à Téhéran, idem; à la bande de tarés entourant et protégeant Netanyahou; à l’Idiot-en-Chef en Chine; aux dirigeants de Hamas pour qui les désastres qui s’abattent sur les Palestiniens ne sont rien que du matériel pour alimenter leur propre abonnement à la haine; à la bande dégoûtante aux Etats-Unis, en train de démolir leur propre pays …

Et ainsi de suite.

En 1982, mes trois ans de travail en Israël dans un projet militaire s’étaient clos sur les massacres des camps palestiniens de Sabra et Chatilah, massacres perpétrés par les milices chrétiennes, phalangistes de la guerre civile libanaise, mais avec le concours des soldats israéliens sous la direction d’Ariel Sharon, dirigeant l’éclairage pour le “travail” des miliciens dans une ville privée d’électricité. Ces massacres m’accompagnent depuis. Bien sûr, on me dit (et on m’a dit) que je n’y étais pour rien, que je n’avais pas participé à cette horreur, et cetera. Ce qui est vrai. Mais le projet militaire duquel j’ai tiré mon salaire pendant trois ans…et me revoilà dans tout le fatras des oui mais non mais oui qui touche à toute la question de la violence dite d’Etat et de ce qu’elle représente, en vrai, pour la vie des gens qui ne demandent rien d’autre que le droit de continuer à vivre du mieux qu’ils le peuvent.

“Quittez ces lieux immédiatement”, dit Netanyahou aux civils Gazaouites, en annonçant qu’il réduirait “la ville du mal” en ruines. Bien sûr, quittez, quittez…comment ? En pédalo ? Pour aller où ?

Et se rajoute encore un autre anneau à la chaîne interminable des malheurs humains.

Following an article on the situation in the Middle East, reader ends his comments with the following words: “Being old allows not to be afraid and to look at situations cooly”. Personally, I wouldn’t go that far because I doubt fear is age-related rather than situational.

Mostly for now, I’m angry. Angry against a lot of people, for the catastrophes raining down on people who didn’t ask them for a thing, really not a single one. I thoroughly resent the bunch around the Kremlin and his chief harm-doer who, through Ukraine, are attacking the whole world; same in Teheran; same with the Chief-Idiot in China; same for the bunch of morons surrounding and protecting Netanyahu; to Hamas leaders for the disasters afflicting Palestinians, disasters they only see as material to feed their own subscription to hatred; to the offensive bunch in the States tearing down their own country; to…

And so on.

Those massacres have never left me since. Of course, I’m told (and I was told then) that I had nothing to do with it, that I didn’t take part in that horror, and so on. Which is true. But the military project from which I drew my salary for three years…and I’m back into the whole mess of yes but no but yes that touches on the whole auestion of so-called State violence and what it represents, in reality, on the lives of people who never asked for anything other than the right to go on living as best they could manage.

“Leave this area immediately”, Netanyahu tells Gaza citizens, announcing he will reduce the “city of evil” to rubble. Of course, leave, leave…how? In pedalboats? Headed where?

And so, yet another link of the endless chain of human misery.
