Ici, demain, c’est la pré-rentrée scolaire pour les profs (dont j’en connais plusieurs qui sont en “pré-rentrée” depuis le début de la semaine, y compris dans une école locale où il faisait 34°C dans la classe). Ce matin, le Kyiv Independent rappelle que, selon l’UNICEF,seulement un tiers des enfants ukrainiens pourront aller à l’école, plus de 1 300 écoles ayant été détruites par des tirs russes. Pour certains, ce sera la quatrième année de cours dispensés sur internet…là où ils sont accessibles.

Sans parler des centaines de milliers d’autres enfants, enlevés par l’envahisseur, et qui devront fréquenter l’école en Russie et se faire submerger de propagande haineuse à l’endroit de leur pays, de leurs parents, d’eux-mêmes…

Pendant ce temps, ici toujours, le nouveau ministre de l’Education, une petit jeune homme tout droit issu du sérail présidentiel avec une absence totale de connaissance de l’école publique française, lance la polémique souhaitée par le président pour bien préparer les esprits avant le projet de loi sur l’immigration: l’interdiction du port de l’abaya pour les filles et du kami pour les garçons dans les écoles publiques françaises. Evidemment, personne ne se donne la peine ni de préciser le nombre d’enfants qui portent l’un ou l’autre de ces vêtements, ni en quoi cette décision aura un effet miraculeux sur les recrutements de nouveaux profs pour combler les postes vacants; non, il s’agit de mousser un sentiment anti-pas-comme-nous, pour le plus grand plaisir des alliés du gouvernement qui se recrutent de plus en plus dans l’extrême droite haineuse.

Pour ce que je connais des adolescents, l’interdiction aura l’effet contraire à celui escompté.

Et pour le reste, ce matin, le soleil est apparu à l’est et je prévois qu’il disparaîtra de l’horizon à l’ouest ce soir.

Over here tomorrow, school teachers will be preparing the start of the new school year (I know some who have been in preparations since the beginning of the week, including in a local school where the temperature rose to 34°C in one of the classrooms). This morning, the Kyiv Independent publishes a reminder from UNICEF, that only one third of Ukrainian children will be attending school since over 1 300 school have been destroyed by Russian strikes. For some children, this will be the fourth year of schooling through internet…where such is accessible.

This is before mentioning the hundreds of thousand other children kdnapped by the invader and who will have to attend school in Russia and be submerged with hate propaganda against their country, their parents, themselves….

Meanwhile over here still, the brand new minister of Education, a young man straight out of the presidential seraglio with absolutely no knowledge or experience related to the French public school system, starts a controversy desired by the President prior to the presentation of the immigration bill, around the wearing of the abaya by girls and the kami by boys in French public schools. Of course, no one bothers specifying how many children dress this way, nor how this decision will miraculously have a positive impact on the recruitment of new teachers to fill the vacant positions; no, the whole purpose is to whip up the not-like-us crowd to the greater delight of the government’s allies, recruited more and more in the hate-mongering extreme right wing.

From what I know of teenagers, the prohibition will have the opposite effect to the one expected.

And for the rest, the sun appeared on the Eastern horizon this morning, and I expect it will disappear on the western one this evening.
