Ça m’énerve beaucoup quand je lis les rengaines au sujet de la “droitisation” de la population, comme si la “droitisation” était un phénomène naturelle, inéluctable, alors qu’elle est voulue, incitée, je dirais même produite à coups de “droitisation” des productions financées par nul autre que les propriétaires de chaînes télé, radio, agences et maisons de presse…Avec la complicité pas-si-silencieuse du gouvernement.

Bref. Alors qu’il n’y a pas plus de trois ans, un appel à hébergement temporaire d’une personne seule aurait reçu une réponse favorable en quelques jours, la recherche se poursuit encore et je ne suis pas certaine qu’on y trouve une solution.

Est-il même utile de mentionner ici le chantage à la famine qu’exerce la Russie sur les pays dits “en développement” en se retirant de l’accord sur les livraisons de céréales de l’Ukraine ? Mention “utile” uniquement parce qu’il s’agit de libérer de l’espace mental pour autre chose que des obsessions sur des sujets qu’on ne peut pas régler. Là aussi, à lire les journaux, on se trouve devant de l’inéluctable – eh oui, que voulez-vous, Poutine est vraiment insupportable mais voilà, vous comprenez…et les massacres se poursuivent.

Curieux. En révisant Une Poule Avertie en Vaut Deux, je remarque tout ce que j’ai évité d’évoquer du malaise que ressent Moïra au contact de sa “vraie” famille. Une sorte de crainte d’être “contaminée”, comme si cette famille représentait une maladie qu’elle doit combattre. Il faut dire qu’il y a de quoi, la famille dans ce récit est une catastrophe multi-générationelle. Ce qui est curieux, c’est de constater à quel point j’ai hésité à mentionner ses craintes – comme si je craignais moi-même de m’en trouver contaminée. Une question de dosage, peut-être, pour que même une personne qui trouve que c’est “trop” puisse tenir jusqu’au bout.

Is there any point in mentioning here the famine blackmail Russia is placing on the countries known as “developing” ones by pulling out of the agreement on Ukrainian grain shipments ? The only “point” being an attempt at clearing some head space for other things than obsessions I can do nothing about. Here also, in reading the papers, you’re faced by the unavoidable – ah yes, what can you do, Putin is truly unbearable, but you know, this and that…and the massacres go on.

Odd. In revising Once Bitten Twice Shy, I realize everything I omitted mentioning of the uneasiness Moira experiences at the contact of her “real” family. A kind of fear of being “contaminated”, as if this family was a disease she had to fight against. She has good reason for this, the family in this story is a multi-generational disaster. The oddness being how reluctant I was to evoke her fear – as if I had feared being contaminated myself. A matter of dosage, perhaps, so that even someone who thinks all this is “too much” can perhaps stay with it to the end.
