De Lewis Carrol en France, je crois qu’on connaît davantage Alice au pays des merveilles. Dans cette autre aventure, Alice passe de l’autre côté du miroir et découvre un monde où tout est inversé: il faut courir pour rester en place, s’éloigner de sa destination pour s’en rapprocher et on y discute d’un présent non encore avenu. Plus encore, tout, absolument tout est régi par la logique immuable du jeu d’échec, logique inexorable et inhumaine fondée sur le principe qu’il ne peut y avoir qu’un seul vainqueur.

On l’aura compris, à bien des égards, j’ai l’impression d’y retrouver la “logique” que défendent Poutine et ses affidés. Logique qui n’a pas grand chose à voir avec celle qui se pratique de ce côté-ci du miroir. J’ai surtout le sentiment que, tant que la “logique” en question ne sera pas reconnue comme une évidence, les occidentaux vont continuer à réagir à chaque nouveau mensonge comme si c’était le premier.

Poutine ment. Son cercle ment. Ils mentiront toujours. À nous d’agir en conséquence, ça me paraît évident.

Everyone can understand that, in many ways, I get the imporession of finding in it the “logic” defended by Putin and his affiliates. A Logic that doesn’t have much to do with the one practiced on this side of the mirror. Mainly, I have the impression that, as long as the “logic” in question will not be acknowledged as an evidence, Westerners will go on reacting to each new lie as if it were le first.

Putin lies. His circle lies. They will always lie. Up to us to act as a consequence, it seems obvious to me.
