Very rich men buy what they want, this is well known. Apparently, once something is “well known”, there’s nothing else to say about it. And this is how one among the very rich men over here has bought himself media platforms on which his favorites are free to say whatever they like and spread their venom across the land. Others, not. In any country other than that of proclaimed freedoms, this would be called censorship. But not here, dear god, what are you saying.
And this is how a commentator who distils hatred, racism, disdain all day long is totally entitled to his “freedom of expression”, but making jokes about him is not allowed? The joke in question didn’t carry much of a sting from what I’ve read of it, but any sting at all was too much. I guess over-developed egos are like balloons, they pop at the slightest pin prick. Fragile, in other words. Caution, protected area, do not joke!

Yesterday in France, two out of three voters abstained from casting a ballot in the first round of the regional elections. And given the mediocre choices before them, most of those who voted opted for what is known as the “centrists” in the right wing with all of their familiar clichés. Basically, they voted like those Catholics who take communion on Sundays, without bothering at all with their untouchable religion for the rest of the week (except for comments about the unacceptable religion of others, but that brings us back to favorite commentators of very rich and very fragile men.)
