“Rattraper le temps perdu” –

Ce matin, Lapinou Express le confirme: ça grouille et ça grenouille dans la mare aux canards. En effet, le “big boss” du Medef  (pour les ignares, il s’agit de l’association française des entreprises) rompant définitivement avec la doxa d’un précédent Chef d’Etat – “Travailler Plus pour Gagner Plus” – prend résolument les devants en annonçant qu’il faudra travailler plus dur et plus fort pour “rattraper le temps perdu”. Ni une, ni deux, la secrétaire d’Etat à l’économie saute dans la mare, et reprend les mêmes mots car, non, il est faux de prétendre que le temps perdu ne reviendra plus, faux, faux, il faut travailler plus, plus fort, plus vite et plus longtemps pour prendre le temps de vitesse dans une course à reculons et les yeux bandés. Ah, il ne sera pas dit que la discipline ne fait pas la force des armées !

Cela dit, je subodore que le dit Chef des Armées (qui doit s’adresser à la nation ce soir) va trouver des formules plus élégantes et moelleuse pour enrober le tout. Il a toute la journée devant lui pour noter les réactions des uns et des autres à ces nobles appels à  la discipline des travailleurs et, comme ces insectes que nous appelions des “patineuses” , il fera de son mieux pour glisser sur la surface de la mare avec phrases, périphrases et emphase.

Nous attendons ses paroles avec tout le respect qu’il se doit, comme toujours.

“Making up for lost time” –

This morning, Bunny Express confirms: there is jittering and buggering in the duck pond. Indeed, the Medef’s big boss (for the ignoramus, this is the French industries association), in a definite break with the doxa of a former Chief of State – “Working More in order to Earn More” – steps out in the open announcing there will be need to work harder and longer “to make up for lost time”. No need to think any further, the State Secretary for the Economy immediately jumped into the pond repeating the same words because it is untrue, not true at all that lost time will never return, wrong, wrong, we must work twice as hard, faster and longer to outpace  time in a blindfolded backward race. Ah, no one will be able to say that discipline isn’t the strength of the army!

That being said, I sense that said Chief of the Armies (who must speak to the nation this evening) will find more elegant and smooth-sounding expressions in which to coat it all. He has a whole day ahead of him in which to note various reactions to these noble calls to the discipline of the workers and like those insects we called “skaters” will do his best to skim and glide across the surface of the pond with emphatic phrases and periphrases.
