Je ne suis pas citoyenne française et je ne suis encartée nulle part. Il n’empêche que, des commentaires que j’ai lus depuis hier soir, la déclaration du PCF est celle qui correspond le mieux à ma position personnelle et au choix que je poserais lors du second tour de l’élection présidentielle le 7 mai prochain.

En d’autres mots, entre Charybde et Scylla, je choisirais de maintenir le cap sur la suite des choses : les législatives, en premier lieu,  et toutes les marges de manoeuvre individuelles et collectives qui resteraient ouvertes à ceux et celles pour qui la politique n’est pas le spectacle d’un soir mais un élément constant d’une ré-affirmation constante de valeurs qu’ils estiment fondamentales. La déclaration est disponible ici et si le temps me le permet un peu plus tard, j’en reprendrai les grandes lignes en anglais pour ceux que ça peut intéresser.

Beyond May 7th

I’m not a French citizen and am not a card-carrying anything. Nonetheless of the comments I’ve read since last night, the declaration by the French Communist Party is the one closest to my personal position and to the choice I would make on the second round of the presidential election, scheduled for May 7th.

In other words: between a rock and a hard place, I would choose to stay on course for the rest of the program : the legislatives, in the first place, plus all the individual and collective opportunities open to those for whom politics aren’t a one-night show but a constant element in the constant re-affirmation of values they consider fundamental. The declaration is available here in French. Should time allow a bit later, I’ll note down its main points in English for those the subject might interest.
