This morning’s moment of zen, provided by the following cast of unlikely characters:
-thirteen people of unspecified ages and origins, intent on reaching England and found inside a truck moving up through Belgium. (They will later explain they boarded “the wrong truck”).
– Two Belgian policemen who come across the Thirteen, now walking down the road in the general direction of France. The newspaper report doesn’t specify how the two Belgian policemen managed to fit thirteen people into their vehicle. At any rate, the two Belgian policemen drove the thirteen – singly or in pairs – into French territory, to help them along in the direction of their choice.
-French policemen then arrest the two Belgian policemen for smuggling illegals into the country. Handcuff the Belgians, interrogate them (the story doesn’t specify if their rights get reeled off first). Etc.
-Diplomatic incident between Belgium and France and mutual accusations of “you ship illegals into our country, why shouldn’t we drive illegals across to your side”
etc
End of moment of zen. On to this day’s selection of goodies. Boredom isn’t one of the options on the menu.
